Hi,

I have a baby RES, for about 5months now. everything has been fine, shes been eating and everything.but sionce i changed the water a couple of days ago and when i put her back in..she usally does her rountine and trys to get used to it... then shes fine. but now its diffrent. she just stays on her basking rock all day!!! doesnt move...she has half her body in the water and half sticking out on the rock..and stsya there..just staring at nothing. I understand sometimes she basks for while ..but she has been sittin there doing nothing. She doesnt even eat anything. Water temp is fine...75-80 when i move her or touch her..she starts to swim around for a while...then she will just go back to the rock and sit there all day. dont eat nothing...and she used to eat all the time..she knows when imgoing to feed now..she dont want to do nothing but sit on the rock all day.

And she seems to be spreading her legs and and arms out along with her neck far now. when shes still and when she swims and stands still her legs and neck are far out.

What wrong with her?

How big is your turtle? How big is the set up? What are your basking temps? What are you offering to eat? What kinds of things do you add to your water?

Some extra information will help.

my turtle is not to big. It can still fit in the palm of my hand. still small. I have a 10 gallon tank with a basking rock..no pepbbles in the water. Clear bottom floor. Im not sure about the baskin temp. I only have one aqua plant in the water. and one little statue of a turtle. I usally feed her Dry Shrimp.

Has the setup changed in any way besides the water change? They sometimes take awhile do get used to things.

If she's not eating and spends almost her entire time on the dock, you might want to have her checked out by a herp vet.

When you changed the water, did you use cold water? Will she eat a treat, maybe some tuna fish?
