Urgent Care :: okay one quick question

i am at schoolright now and my pe teacher gave me her turtle cuz she couldnt care for it when she gave it to me today the top of its shell was whiteand kinda flacky. do you know what it could be?

It could be normal sheeding, but smell your turtles shell does it smell or has green stuff growing on it? If it doesn't it's normal shedding :) , if it does see a vet. :cry:

A picture of the shell when it's dry would be helpful to see the condition of the shell and what's going on. If you put a little while vinegar on a q-tip and rub some of the white, does it come off? If so, it could be mineral deposits.

What kind of set-up had the turtle been in? What kind of set-up do you have him in?
