Ok, I have two turtles, one male, one female (I'm possitive).
Both are aprox. 12 yrs old. (always been in the same tank together)
Last night I noticed the two of them fighting, so I took the female out of the tank. I noticed then that she had something protruding from her rear end, and she was bleeding.
Shortly after it went back inside, but bleeding continued a bit.
She stayed the night in the bath tub.
When I checked on her today the sack (thing) was back out, and it has stayed out for the last few hours. Still bleeding a bit, Im a little worried.
Please help. I am waiting for a call back from the vet. but any sooner help will be greatly appreciated!

Well plz post the pic ASAP it would be very helpfull. Are you sure the attacked turtle is a female? Adult males will protude their penis out theyre rear end, also know as "fanning". It looks like a red bulge. When males do this sometimes other males (or females) will bite at it. Do you think this may be the case? Either way blood is a bad sign and the turtle has been injured. Keep him/her dry docked until you can get to the vet asap. Polysporin might help ward off infection....

Be sure to see a herp vet ASAP. Also, keeping your turtle in the tub isn't wise. Not only is it unhealthy for you, but could be deadly for your turtle. Soap scum and other residue from human use can be toxic.

Does your female turtle have a nesting area to lay eggs? If not the eggs could have ruptured inside her. She needs to see a herp vet ASAP.

Was she bitten at all? If the sac (?) is still out and she's bleeding, she needs to see a herp vet. (Find a herp vet rather than posting pictures here.)

Is there an update? I'm curious to know what is going on.
