Turtles should grow around an inch a year on a healthy balanced diet of pellets and vegetables with the occasional live prey and fruit treats. During the first year they will grow a little more than this though. Around three inches is a good size at a year old. Overfeeding we lead to fast growth and a lot of health issues later on.

If you haven't been giving them veggies then you need to introduce these to them as soon as possible to keep them healthy.

How big were they when you got them and how big are they now?

Mine grew way too fast :( I've had them for about 6 months and they grew almost 2 inches!!! So I cut way down on pellets and they get the veggies now :p
Mine were small for their age too...b/c they weren't feed properly before...so, is that partially why they grew so much?
Bobbi-RES 3.5 inches
Squirt-RES 2.5 inches
