Hi.. I'm new, my turtle, simona, has been with me for a year and a half; se 's been growing up normally; she eats A LOT.. it seems she is o.k. but looks like she is pooping...it poops out something brown/black that looks larger than a quarter- almost the size of a small egg -but it's still attached to the turtle's anus. And when I get
close to the turtle tank, the turtle slowly sucks the thing
back into its anus. What is that?? Is it okay?

Sounds to me like your turtle is a boy. He's showing you his 'boy part'. Nothing to be alarmed about as long as it goes back in on it's own.

How large is your turtle? If the shell length is longer than 4 inches from end to end (not including the curve), then you will be able to tell the gender of your turt. Some clues to look for, long nails on the front means you have a boy. Thicker tail would also indicate a boy. Does this sound like your turt? Chances are, she is actually a he.

FYI, it' called "fanning". Also, when you said 'she' eats a lot... you need to make sure you do not overfeed your turtle. For turts over a year old, pellets should be given every other day in the amount the would fit inside the head (if it were hollow) and you can offer a wide range of healthy veggies - Check the feeding+nutrition forum.

As long as your boy is able to retract his male part into his cloaca (anal vent), there shouldn't be any problem. :)
