I built a basking platform and covered it in marine carpet. I just pulled a huge ball of carpet fibers from his butt!! I have no idea if there's more in him. I have never seen him chew or bite at the carpeting but after inspecting it, there are spots where the carpet looks thinner. should I worry about his ability to pass any more and what material should I use instead of carpet?

I'm not familiar with marine carpet but get rid of it asap. There is reptile carpet, but there are a bunch of other materials... what is your platform like?

Make sure he passes all of it... look up local herp vets in case you need their services.
