they need time to get used their new environment. But tell us more about your set-up and dont worry if the turtle doesnt eat for first day you have him/her.

also read through some of the already exsisting posts and read the sticky's at the top of each category. they will tell you what you can feed the turtle, water temp, lighting, and tons of stuff. just look around and youll learn a lot.

RES
you should try to introduce veggies when they are babies. they need variety in their diets but are more carnivirous when they are younger, and as they get older eat more veggies.

What are you keeping your RES in? Once she adjusts to her new home, she will begin to eat. It may take her a day or two, but don't worry. You need to make sure that she has a proper set up also. If she isn't properly taken care of, she may not eat. How big is your RES? You won't know a gender until she is at least 4 inches. So, she may be a he.

Shellie, the information on this site is about RED EAR SLIDERS. This information also applies to similar species unless noted differently. Do yourself and your turtle a favor by reading the information available.

shellie, once again, as both steve and I have told you, you must search for information yourself. This forum is a banquet of information, no one is going to sit here and spoon feed it to you. I'd suggest instead of sitting here and posting the same questions repeatedly, that you follow our advice and spend your time search the forum and website and learn how to take care of your turtle properly.

It would help us if we knew what kind of environment you were keeping your turtle in. Without any information, we don't even know what advice to give you.

Does your turtle have any privacy? What kind of tank is your turtle in?

You still haven't told us what your set up is like. What are you keeping her in? Do you have basking lights for her?

What are the water and basking area temps? If the water temp in particular is too cool, your turtle may eventually stop eating (water should be about 78F, basking area 88-90F).
