I'm very sorry to hear you lost your turtle.

If you got him recently, he could have been ill already, and in such a case, it's extremely difficult to make him well, even though you tried your best to do so.

Do not be too hard on yourself. You tried your best. Unfortunately, sometimes things are just not meant to be...

Something to keep in mind for the future. Since you are interested in purchasing again...go to a reputable dealer. When you purchase from the online places, roadside stands, mall kiosks, and flea markets, you are supporting people who breed for no reason other than to make money. They don't care about the well being of the turts, or what conditions they will live in when purchased. I would encourage you not to support these kinds of businesses. Also, you can think about adoption too! RES are becoming over populated in terms of pets. People get them and don't know what to expect, so they give them to humane societies and other shelters. These places a lot of times are not equiped to care for these animals.
Also, when looking. Look for a turtle who is very active, has a healthy looking shell, clean and clear eyes, and is very cute! I was thinking of something else, but by the time I got to the end of my list, I couldn't remember, oh well! I'm sorry for your loss, and do keep us updated on future turts!

So sorry for your loss, hun. It sounds like you really got attached to him and did everything you could. Good luck with your next one.
