With the hurricane coming I have a question. If we loose power like we did for sandy (almost a week here) how do we keep our precious turtles warm? and their tanks at the right temperatures? I personally have a generator that can run during the day but not at night. I just figured ask how to keep our little ones warm and content just in case

Good luck with Hurricane Joaquin. I hope you don't get hit too hard. I was told when I was having troubles with the power that the turtle could go into a container if you give them towels to burrow into to stay warm. I have a big Rubbermaid container with tall sides that I used.

Thats a good idea. Im trying to prepare there are three paths it could take right now go into the city and miss us, go out to sea and miss us, or go right over long island and hit us square, so im trying to get everything prepared now before its too late

Larger/Older RES can tolerate colder temps, just minimize temp swings. In your situation, you can keep them in a plastic tub (dry, lined with clean towels) and let them sleep. You can use hot water bottles to keep it warm if you need too. Tall sides like cutepanda86 mentioned would help because Raphael will want to get out. Keep it dark (maybe put this in a bathroom or closet) and she should fall asleep.
