Hi everyone, im new to this forum. I live in Honduras, i dont know where can i find a good herpvet. I have 4 RES aprox 2 years old, they are 6 inches big each, i have them in an outside home made pond with a homemade canister filter which keeps the water real clean and in movement 24/7. The weather temperature its always between 32 (max) to 17(min) degrees celcius, so i guess water its always good in temp. Also they get enough sun during the day and have a shadow area to cool off. They been in the tank(10 gallon) for 8 month aprox but i noticed that 3 of them had small cuts in their necks, i didnt pay that much attention not until 2 weeks later that 2 of them the wound was bigger and uglier, it was like yellow so i took them of the water and put them on a dry place inside the house and started putting some povidone iodine on the wounf for about 3 weeks, lettig them every 2 days get in the water eat and drink water and then off the water to the dry place. They were getting a lot better. Also the trutke that didnt had anything i took it to the backyard for a while so that they coul d be separated completely.

I went on a 3 day trip and left the 4 turtles inside the tank and when i came back 1 of the turtles that was already injured but getting better got really worst, really bad, looks like the whole skin of the neck is tearing apart, the other one that was also injured wasnt that bad as this one.
PLease help, dont know what to do, im really worried.

Im still using the povidone iodine on nights and neosporin in the morning(before neosporin i used NEOBOL).
i hope that i can attach pictures to the post

Permanent separation. You will want to dry dock and apply some diluted Betadine to clean the wound and continue with the Neosporin. How long have you been using Neosporin?

Thanks Steve for your help.. im really worried, the turtles seem to act normal and they dont look in pain but it really looks ugly. Been using NEOBOL( Clostebol Acetate, Neomycin Sulfate) which is a cream... been using it for 3 weeks now, they were getting better but in just 3 days in the tank one of them got real bad, took them out in a close enclosure without water or sunlight(in a corner of the house) and by now i have 3 days puting iodine povidone and neosporin. How long will it take o heal? do i need to do something else??

It was attacked in those 3 days, or are you saying it wasn't? I'm not familiar with NEOBOL, but maybe you'd want to look into silver sulfadiazine cream as there is a big risk or infection.

I guess since it had the wound the other one bite her again.. PLanning in making a bigger pond and maybe give away 2 of them because it will be a never ending story about space. I still be trying out with neosporin 2 times a day and dry dock

Wound or not, some turtles (especially males) are just plain aggressive. Separation, no matter how you do it, is necessary. If there isn't noticeable improvement in the next couple of days, I'd seek out some vet help (or vet schools, colleges/universities, rehabbers, rescues, local interest groups...)
