I know this probably will get me in trouble, but I'm scared for my sisters red eared. My mother got her the turtle, but we didn't have a big enough "tank" for it. She is currently living in an 18 Gallon container, with 7.5 inches, her name is Kame. All I'm asking is for a small donation, either money, or a big enough tank for her to be in. I'm scared for her health, as she doesn't really move a lot. My mother and sister are laidback about the situation, I've asked my mom to please take her to the vet, but she refuse's because she believes the turtle will adjust. I have asked my sister to please be more responsible about her turtle but she claims she is, even thought I have been the one to replace the water every day, because we don't have a filter. The reason I'm asking is because I am 16 with no job, because I am illegal in the country I live. I have no money, if I had I would have bought her a tank. Please help me. If this post gets deleted it may be for a reason. Thank you for your time and sorry.

if I earned enough money, I might buy the 38 dollar. it isn't nearly enough, but it's bigger than where she is.

Thanks to anyone who viewed it, I have come up with a temporary solution.

You can supply some heat for the turtle by using a light bulb. I don't think your sister is ready to take care of it. You could try finding it another home.

Thank you very much for the tip, sadly at the moment I have no real power to let someone else take her, because my sister doest want to let her go.

How old is your sister? Maybe direct her to this or similar sites for care info. Even Petco has basic care sheets in store.

This is sad.. If it were me, I would just risk my sister getting mad and do right by the turtle. She is basically being tortured living like that and can't help herself so it is up to you to save her. I wish you the best of luck getting her out or to provide her what she needs before she dies.

Thank you all very much for your concern. My sister in the very end decided to actually take care of her. We both were going to buy her a bigger place to stay with the little money we could scrap. But sadly for her, and a little to me, I got attached to her, my mom though that I was making a big deal of taking care of her,ignoring our chores, as she though taking care of her would be simple. She is returning her to her original owner. Even though I feel I bit sad, it was probably for the best.
