hello everyone, yesterday was the first time i was in the room with clark while he basked, leggs spread out far and he moved around on the basking spot every 5-10 mins or so... then suddenly he starts yawning! he'd yawn a couple every few mins, sometimes he wont yawn for more than 10 mins.... is this normal? clark can submerge fine, no tilting in his floating, eats fine and is very active, he doesn't do that yawning thing when he's just coming up for air! should i be worried? his tank stats are as followed :?

water temperature: 75-78
basking temperature: 85-88
food:romaine lettuce, reptomin pellets, and a cuttle bone that he never eats
filter: yes
heater: yes

i've never really watched him bask before so im not sure if this is the first time he's done it or not! i dont think he was "gasping" for air, it just looked like a yawn! how do u know for sure if your turtle has RI? THANKYOU EVERYONE!

My turts yawn too when they bask. Like yours sometimes more than others. I wouldn't be concerned at all. You mentioned that he is other wise acting normal, he still gets off the dock and swims, and he isn't lathargic. Sounds normal to me.

Either your turtle will wear himself thin trying to catch them or wind up eating a lot of protein if he does...

okay so just an update, i got about 20, threw about 10 really small ones in there and added a ton of hiding spaces... so far they're too fast for him but its really funny to see him crawl up behind them and try to snatch em!
