Can RES survive with no front legs?

I have just rescued a RES that has lost both front legs from the "elbow" down- not sure if that is correct term. He is receiving Veterinary care, my question is about his habitat. Can he still swim properly? Any ideas on what kind of platform would be best for him?

You will have to wait and see, but most likely there will have to be some modifications. Eating will also require changes as he can't rip apart his food. Much respect for the rescue!

I don't have any advice, I just wanted to thank you for being that kind of person. I'm so glad you rescued him!

I would also think a shallower ramp than your typical RES, since climbing up may be harder.

I'll also add my kudos! Good for you for the rescue!
