ok.. so here's the deal... i have 3 RES turtles. one is about 6 months old and the others about 2. The older bigger one eats allthe time. BUT
the two smaller ones are suddenly not eating.

they are not listing or lethargic. actually quite active and usually swimming around and basking.
if i walk into the room the will jump off the basking platform and try to swim away (as they always do)
so both the small guys stopped eating for the last 3 days.... one of them has white mucus coming out of the mouth.

what could be wrong? Apart from the mucus on the one, they dont exhibit any typical RI issues... so i just dont know.

please help i dont wanna lose my babies

Is there a basking light? yes
Is there a basking platform that is easy to climb on? yes
What kind is it or what is it made out of? stone
Is there a UVB light? yes

What have you been trying to feed it? turtle pellets
When was the last time your turtle ate? 3 days ago

How big is the tank/pond/enclosure? currently a 2 foot tank but once they grow an inch or two more they will be moved to a 75 gallon minimum.
Is the tank near a window? yes
Is the tank in a room with a lot of activity? no

Have you read the Basic Care section? yes
Have you searched the forums for similar situations? yes

Is there any other unusual activity/symptoms? no

Is the mucus out of the nose or mouth? Are they kept together? Are you certain they were eating before? Have they grown over the past 2 months?

yes. it is coming out of the mouth. nothing is coming out of the nose. i had a look today and the nose is nice and clear.
they are kept together but i removed the 2 who dont eat now and put them separately.

im certain they were eating. they have grown.

even though they dont eat, they do show more signs of growth and that the new shell growth is becoming more established.

i bought some guppies to feed them yesterday. the one ate but the other still did not.

Did the mucus come out after a long bask or time out of the water? Have you tried holding the guppy by the tail and letting it wiggle in front of his face?

It comes out after a long bask, but also when he/she is in the water as well... so its both.
i havent tried that... the turtle usually gets scared when it sees me and dives away. i will try it though.

What could be potential problems with it? i could not find anything through searching....

Any more problems with mucus? Mucus can be a symptom of RI, but there would be other symptoms. By now, the turtles should be getting used to you and shouldn't have a problems eating in front of you. I'd concentrate of getting them to eat, if they haven't.
