okay i know this is weird, but i randomly found a Red Ear Slider Turtle baby in my pool just swimming around. i've taken it in and given it a place to rest. I've discovered the turtle has a hole in its chest area, im not sure if its the stomach or something but you can see things moving through the hole which looks like it breathing. There seems to be a gray part and red part where you can see through the hole. Im scared it will die! It hasnt been moving much as it has been earlier and it looks like as if its leaking some kind of yellow liquid. Can i save it? Im thinking its possibly from my neighbor, as they own two baby turtles. Im planning to give it back when they get home but im extremely worried that its going to die. Is there anyway i can save it?
I dont live anywhere with wetlands or anything, so its definitely not wild, and its definitely not a hatching either. My parents wont let me take it to the vet, as they say its nothing. I think it is injured badly and im scared for it. Please someone help!
