Everything has been going fine with my little Slidy.
I keep him in a 10 gallon tub he is 2.5inch small ... I keep him under direct sunlight all for 4-5 hours everyday ! I change his water every alternate day... and he eats stapple food.
he was very active and use to swim a lot ! but recently from last week I have started noticing that though he's strong when climbing a rock in the tub and bask whenever he wants to.... , but he sleeps alot in the corners lately , rarely swims and eats very less as compared to the amount he use to eat before.. also scratches his eye occasionally..
what could be wrong ?? Its winter season going on but I the temperature is jst normal not much cold ! Please suggest ur opinions.
Thank you.

Do you measure the temperature with a thermometer? When you say he's under direct sunlight, what do you mean?

Yes I did measure the water with thermometer .. Its usually 29-30°C ... Also the room temperature is the same.
I keep his tub outside the house so he basks under direct sun light not an UVB bulb .

Does he have access to water when he's outside? Is it the same tub that you're moving? When he's out of the tub, what does he do? Does he have his eyes closed a lot?

Yes... I just keep the same tub out in sun light and he basks all the time... when he's out of the tub he usually keeps his left eye close and keeps scratching it and then keep both the eyes open... but usually in tub he is keeping his eyes close and doesnt moves at all... stays at one place for hours... jst swims a little to get the oxygen !

They breath air through their noses, they don't need to be in water. What exactly does he eat? Can you post a picture of his setup?

Yup .. I just meant that he swims and comes up to the water surface to breath and then goes back to his corner... I Cant really send a picture now but its a round plastic tub with water almost twice as his length ... and a big stone in between for him to bask... with a bulb for heat

I dont really know that... but when its too hot he goes inside the water ... anyways I checked his eyes carefully but I cannot see any infection... but still he is keeping his eyes closed!

Is he still eating? I would consider setting him up inside to give him consistent temperatures and where you can observe him closer.

He still looks the same... I'll ask my dad to bring the cod liver oil capsule as I read on many forums about it..
