Urgent Care :: IN NEED OF SOME HELP, TURTLE SHELL DISCOLORATION.

Hello, I'm a little concerned about my RES, Joker. His shell color is starting to fade to white. I've been treating him for shell rot, and that seems to be going nicely, but there are a few areas I'm concerned with, as Well as the shell discoloration. Despite looking healthy, the white spot on the carapace might be some exposed bone layer. Since most of the shell looks good, do you know what happened? An injury or infection maybe? Are you consulting with a vet regarding the shell rot?

No. I haven't went to a vet regarding the shell rot, I have gotten that taken care of.. Everything was going good, until the white spot on his shell. As far as I know nothing has happened to him. So...what would one do if it is bone exposure? Would it heal up on its own?

In smaller spots they will usually heal. My concern is that it's developed in a few spots, so I would try to find out what's going on. Are these new or have they been there awhile?

The two white spots have been there for about a month. They don't seem to bother him, he's active, and eats just fine. The inside of his mouth is pink. No other she'll rot spots have appeared. It's just the two White spot I'm concerned about. The bigger one (on the back of his shell) I think that more of his scoot fell of then what it should have. I've been dry docking him and using animal iodine and Neosporin on these two white spots. Any suggestions would be wonderful!

Not much I can think of to treat it, however he would need to get to vet if they get worse. Usually it just flakes off when it's exposed like that but not all circumstances are the same.
