hello,

i woke up this morning and i found an egg on the basking area. I have a 4 yearold female, 2 yearold female, 4 year old male, 2 year old male . ive the big female for 4 years and the rest from 2 years. the water temprature is around 25-30 Celsius and i use a thermometer. i dont use a water heater cuz i live in a very hot place and there is about 50 gallons of water in the tank. i dont use a water conditioner(should i ?) and he filter broke down a week ago and im planing to get a new one soon. the basking temp is around 30-35 Celcius the there is a heat light and the glass platform is easy to climb on and there is a UVB light. all the turtles eat fine and they are all healthy and active. the turtle was trying to escape 3 days ago and was swimming up and down the whole day so thats a symptom of being pregnant i guess. I found only 1 egg till now but i dont know if its fertile so i dont know what to do with it. also, its a little squished from the upper part but not broken is that bad?? i dont know what to do with the egg and im worried about the rest of the eggs cuz i know that if she doesnt lay more she's gna die. SO WHAT DO I DOO WITH HER AND THE EGG PLEASE HELP !!

Thank you

Eggs are slightly pliable but just throw it out. You're going to continually have egg-laying issues with your setup, so I would keep an eye out for more.

Breeding RES is not recommended (invasive and overcrowded in rescues). Younger females also don't produce very good eggs, so you probably don't want to hang on to those.
