Urgent Care :: white skin-like feces?

i woke up this morning to see a bunch of white skin-like strands floating around in my tank. at first i thought maybe the sealer was coming loose on the tank but after looking a little closer i realized my 4.5 inch RES was actually pooping this stuff out. she looks normal, no change in behavior. what could be causing this?

hello! can you post a picture of your set up, and the poop? also, is there something in the tank that she could have eaten, like some materials in the basking area/ramp? how about cuttlebone. do you feed your turtle cuttlebone?

I can't get a picture of the set-up. It's a 30 gallon tank, filled about halfway with a canister filter rated for 60 gallons,a UV light and stones the size of dimes at the smallest. (I need to get a heat lamp, tight on cash at the moment, but I do take them out a d bask them in a box for 15 minutes every other day) I have a heater as well which keeps the temperature at 76 I believe. I have a dock that suctions to the back of the tank that I bought at pet smart I believe. I removed it from the tank and checked for any missing pieces.

I have two res in the tank the 4.5 inch is the larger of the two, the other being 3.5 inches. Neither of them show any signs of stress and get along with each other very well. I got them for Christmas from my girlfriend. They belonged to a friend of hers who has had them together since she first bought them about 4 years ago.

The poop almost reminds me of a worm. It looks like snake skin after its been shed.

What foods do your turtles eat?

Stupid question - how do you know she actually pooped it? is it stuck in her rear or in her feces?
The snake-skin look is was leaves me curious. I've seen shed like that when dry docked for an extended period of time, but that doesn't seem to be the case here.
