Is it on the top spot? This might happen if the nuchal scute doesn't shed and becomes too long. Does it look noticeably long?

a little. i will have to get a pic posted for you to see tomorrow. if it is what would be the best course to take? not much back story on flash. went to petco to get a new heater for my map turtle and he was the only one swimming around. the water was nasty and he looked sick is the best way to put it. i got him to see if i could help him and that was about a year ago. now he great outher than the spot on his neck that just came up within the last couple of days. well sence saturday. thats when i did a filter clean and got him out in the yard for a bit.

If it is a sharp nuchal scute, a vet can debride it. Does he have a habit of looking upwards, to the point that the top of his neck rubs against it?
