My RES which i got about 2-3 months ago and is right about 2" long and i think he is sick, his eyes a kind of swollen, he is also not eating, his under shell is kind of red, and also his head is all the way out he looks like he is in pain.

My setup is a 10 gallon, Tetra 10i filter, 15watt submersible heater, UVB strip light, feeding freeze dried plankton( not eating now), and like 2 plastic trees and gravel.

Please i need help because i don't want him 2 die, because he is really kool and used to played around with us.

PS-

Hi, harendre
It appears from what you say that your RES is in big trouble. He needs to get to a Vet as soon as you can take him if you want him to live. You can get lists of vets on this website - go under "search". If he is properly treated there have to be changes in order to get him healthy. You do not mention if he has a basking area with a separate basking light. What temperature does the 15 watt heater keep the tank at ? It should be about 80-82 when he is feeling sick. The tank is too small. He should have at least a 20 gallon ( 10 gallons for each inch ) but if you are going to upgrade go as big as you possibly can as he would eventually need an 80 gallon tank or bigger ( they can get 8-12 inches ! ). The food you are feeding him is inadequate, he should have high protein pellets supplemented with vegetables. All these topics can be found on this web site if you search under the specific topic ( feeding and nutrition/ health - illness/ general care and set-ups.)
There is alot of work to do but it will be worth it if you would like to enjoy your RES ( and he deserves it ! )
Good luck !

I did check out the pics, hard to see what is going on but the top shell looks like he has not been eating correctly. Look at the sticky note at the top of urgent care for a link to herp vets in your area. Let us know how you make out ! ( ask them what the fee would be just to look at him so you will have an idea before you get there ). He probably needs antibiotics.

I just noticed from your other post that you have an appt on Wednesday with a doctorfor your res. Not sure why you posted this question twice ( not a good idea ) or why you are asking for vets when you have an appointment on wednesday??

that is too long to wait, try the sticky note section I told you about. If you post in the wrong section and want to get rid of it there just let the moderator know ( Steve or the others listed on the administrative staff ). If you put it in the wrong section though, it is generally moved by them automatically. It just gets confusing for us if there are two threads with the same question.
I hope it works out. What is his name ?

next wed....that really is to long to wait (just like painted said). You either need to find another vet or get an appoinment within the next 2-3 days....a week is WAY to long.
