hello,
i have:
450 lts (120 gallon) tank
a canister filter
a female res (6 inches) around 1.5 yrs age
a male res (4 inches) around over 1 yr age
3 oscar fishes
1 texas fish
Day before yesterday i changed the water of my tank after around 1.5 months.
as usual, i removed my pets from teh tank and changed the water and put aquarium antichlorine solution and a pinch of antibiotic(paraxin) - i had been advised to add these additives everytime i change water in my tank, and till now i have never faced any issues with that.
this time also, i cleaned my tank & filter and refilled water. and put back my pets.
the next morning i saw the female turtle not moving & very stationary. the other turtle was trying to wake her up, but she just was at the bottom of the tank with no movement at all and her eyes were open. i thought since, the other turtle & fishes are absolutely fine... there shouldn't be any problem and left for office.
when i returned back from office, i saw the female turtle lying at the bottom with no movement as if it is a rubber toy. Usually this turtle is very active and keeps swimming and the most dominant of all creatures in my tank. She is the one who use to eat alot and at times use to eat food of fishes & the other turtle also.
i took her out of the tank, to check what is the problem with my turtle and it seemed to be dead with no movement in her limbs and neck, and also it didn't seem to be breathing also. But her eyes are open.
i kept her out of the tank overnight & put warm blower in front of her so that her body becomes warm and she gets some air to breath. and now i have kept this turtle in sunlight, but she is not moving at all -and appearing to be dead.
all other creatures of my tank are fine but this turtle is suddenly appearing to be dead. Please let me kknow what could have happened here and also let me knwo how do i make sure that this turtle is dead.
