I just got a RES about a week ago. She is currently living in a ten gallon tank (will be upgraded asap). The tank has about five gallons of water for her to swim in and a basking area with ample light (she uses it all the time). She is 4"-5" and is currently shedding both shell and skin. She seems to be in good health except her right eye is runny. Due to her tank being so small we tend to let her out once a day to roam in the yard (of course we keep our eye on her). I was just wondering what could be wrong with her eye. I hope you can help!

Aslo her shell has a few white spots on it. I included a picture of the area with the biggest. Could it possibly be shell rot?

How is the eye runny? Do the eyelids look discolored?

It looks like fungus on the shell. It can be easily treated in the early stages. Where was this turtle acquired from?

When she is all dried off her right eye is still wet almost goopy/runny looking. I first noticed it yesterday and I am yet to take her outside today.

How can I treat the fungus? She has it on both sides in the same spot. I tried to scrape it off with my nail but it didn't feel mushy or anything. We got her from Petco.

Both eyes should appear similar. Does it otherwise look fine?

Fungus is best treated with silver sulfadiazine cream. It's a prescription so you might need to ask a vet for it.
