Hi everyone. I have a RES, but I am not sure if he/she is a boy or girl, but i am almost positive that he/she is a boy, so I will call he/she a he. I have some pictures, but I don't know how to put them on here, because I have always been electronically challenged :) So can you tell me how? Haha anyways, here is the link -->

Based o nthe pictures, do you think he is a girl or boy?
Some other questions...

I was trying to get a picture of him, so I put him on my bed, but he ran off and I was, and still am, really scared. He was shaking and really scared, but do you think he is ok? I can't stop thinking about it.

I am thinking about getting the opposite gender of he/she and hopefully have some baby turtles. I know its a big task, but I think I can handle it. What do you think? How many turtles does a female usually have?

Thank you everyone! It means a lot to me if you answer! ~ lillyorwilly?

I think if your turtle has no visible injuries he will probably be fine. Just watch for any strange behavior.

Red eared sliders are generally solitary creatures, while I have read success stories I think aggression is quite common. You would have to be prepared to get a really large tank, and heavy duty filtration. A single male slider should have a 75 gallon aquarium just to himself. A female usually needs 100-120 gallons. Personally, I find it challenging enough providing the optimal home to one very spoiled male red eared slider

Taken from page linked above:
"Comment: Unless you can care for multiple hatchlings or find suitable homes for them, I would not recommend trying to breed turtles. Sliders are not a threatened or endangered species and are considered overpopulated and invasive in many parts of the country and world."

Happycamper is right... keep your turtle alone. Males (which is what you have) almost never get along with other males or females.
