The turtles shell has white shiny spots on the edges and near the tail area. The shell is hard. One of the middle scutes is peeling. I dont see any fungus growing anywhere. They are very active. They bask normally. They are eating well.

I am not exactly quite sure what to do with them. Please help me. I'm worried.

It looks like those scutes should have shed and didn't. When that happens, it's possible that a fungus can develop from bacteria that has gotten underneath.

What does the scute that's peeling look like underneath?

The turtles aren't shedding though. I went to the local aquatic store and they said it could be shell rot.

The guy said to change the environment of my tank like to change the sand to gravel and give them calcium blocks.

I'd trust what the mods here think over those people. They might be trying to just get you buy stuff.

I agree, the white areas are fungus. You can stop using those little white turtle blocks as they can be potentially harmful.

I'll stop feeding them the turtle blocks.

How can I treat their fungus?

The most effective way requires Silver Sulfadiazine (aka: SSD, Silvadene and Thermazene), which can usually be obtained from a vet. You also need to make sure the tank is as clean as possible and that your turtle has plenty of basking time.

She has the same problem as my turtle.I was just about to make a thread about it then I saw this thread.

I have tried Silver Sulfadiazine and Acriflavine ... but they still don't work. Do you have another suggestion Steve?
The worst part is,the fungus seemed to enlarge to another area

Is it Kame or Kroten? Is this something new because I haven't noticed anything in their pictures.

it's kroten. I posted about her fungus under the scute once and I said I use acrilavine for now, was it good for turtle or not.

i'll uploading her pictures when I have enough time to turn on my pc.

I am now trying to cure her using human oilment, it contains miconazole nitrate.

I'm going to buy a bigger basking area for them so they can bask longer.

@Moose - I can't tell too much from the pic. Is it only one particular area that looks deep? Does it have a "rip" look to it?

@KoopaTroopa - It's better as a preventative, though I don't know of anyone who has successfully treated fungus with it. I was thinking it was worth a shot as she's in Indonesia and might have an easier time find it.
