hi all.....

just noticed today that my turtle has fungus infection around and behind both her ears... :((( whitish cottony stuff...

guess its mostly bcoz of improper basking... she doesnt get sunlight everyday, maybe once in 2-3 days or once in a week sometimes if im busy...
so i will make sure i will get her some good dose of sunlight now and will try n get a UV light... dificult to find UV for pets where i live... i just have an incadescent light and she hardly likes to basks under that... she likes sunlight but not always possible for me to take her out as i live in a apartmrent and working...

anyways... anything else i can do to cure the fungus? also note that i may not get all the medicine here in pet shops... but do suggest me if any.... also is there any basic medication i can do?

also will the fish fungus medicine available in pet stores can cure this if i add it in water ? fish care products are easily available here...

if anyting else i can do let me know... will be much appreciated

thanking all
Adam :)

Are you sure it's not just shedding skin? If the water is very warm, it can have a greater effect. If it's thin and wispy in the water but hard to see when she's out of it, then it's likely just skin.

I would try dry-docking and a good rinse/soft scrub first. If you have a serious case, refer to the information on the bottom of this page: http://www.austinsturtlepage.com/Care/medshell.htm
