Ack. I didn't think my second post would end up being in this forum, but here goes:
I have 3 turtles- one female is aggressive, so she's in her own tank, while my little male and other female share a tank. They are both sexually mature, but as long as I've seen them, they never seemed to be doing any mating or dominating dances, so I thought they would get along okay. This morning I saw that the tank was pink (am in the process of cleaning/changing the water now) and the male was sitting still on the basking dock. There was a spot of blood right at his tail opening. He doesn't seem too uncomfortable, but I've put him in a dry tank separate from the female now. My herp vet isn't available this weekend, so I need a little first aid care advice to tide my turtle over until Monday. I've used very very diluted hydrogen peroxide on their injuries before, but those were always minor ones that weren't near vital organs (I'm not sure how close his penis is to the tail opening but... well, I just don't want to mess with it). Is there a better solution/medicine to use? Thanks.
