Is it unusual if my RES doesnt bask anymore? he used to be basking almost whenever i came down the stairs, but now he just swims and occasionally hangs off the basking platform. the water temperature has been a little warmer because of the weather here, does that maybe have to do with it? sorry for the question, im used to seeing posts about turtles constantly basking and have never read up about a turtle NOT basking! thanks :)

Your water temps def have something to do with it. Turtles bask to get warm. If the water is already warm, why would he feel the need to bask?
You may even catch him in the water with his legs all stretched out like he's basking....
