Story 1: Live in apartment and have 2 RES Sliders for the past 1.5 years. Everything is great with them just bought 100 gallon stock tank and buying a pond filter soon.
Story 2: Been planning on moving from Arizona to california and was 4 days away from moving. The maintenance guy comes over and says turtle was left alone in apartment in beta fish tank. Bad news is its shell was very soft. Good news after having if for a few days and some UVA/UVB rays it has already started to Harden up. More good news is that he is very very young so still has a chance of a great life. (Found home for him with friend who loves RES and has one which she left in her parents care when she moved from St Louis to Arizona. She wanted a pet so i am giving her food tank and turtle. Should have a good life.)
Story 3: Was happy that i could save a turtle but guess what, Maintenance guy comes over again with another turtle that has not been fed or in water for over 2 weeks. Turtle was not moving at all when i got it. So i filled the sink of with some water but not enough to cover head incase she was to weak to come up for air. I had lost hope when 40 minutes passed and nothing, i assumed death had happend BUT then i touched her leg and she twitched it slightly. So i ran to get UV light and some more water. Now she is slowly moving around and is semi active with her head and all limbs out of shell but here is where i need help.
She will not eat the pellets put in the tank that i have moved her to. What can i do?
Other question what can i do with her? I cant keep her just dont have the space for one more. Does anyone know someone in AZ that would take care of turtle? i tried a rescue but they want me to pay 30 bucks for them to take her. That is my last resort. Moved date is said for July 20th. Need help feeding and re-homing.
