Hi, i'm new to the forum.
Yesterday I found my turtle really wounded on all her feet, and her eye, and missing one of her front claws. I really couldn't figure out what happened, but my best guess is that my dog bit her. It is really strange because I know my dog, and i'm sure he wouldn't bite her. He has lived on the same garden as her for about 6 years now. Anyways, I washed and disinfected all her wounds and applied some medicine for her to heal, but her neck is a bit swollen (it got better after disinfecting the wounds). This hasn't gone away yet. I wasn't aware of all the preparation of the environment needed for having a turtle, but luckily i'm here and on the way to learning. Do you have any suggestions on what I should do? I'm taking her to the vet that's for sure, but I don't think he's great at curing turtles, and I don't think there's any vet who could either.
She is eating a lot, and also drinking a lot of water. Right now I have her inside my house. My mom told me she saw a rat in the yard. I'm almost sure it wasn't my dog. However there's still a chance he could've bitten her. I'll let her on the yard again when her wounds heal. Right now i'm using a spray for her to heal.
