Urgent Care :: Mucus coming out of RES nose!!!

Before i was getting ready to go somewhere i noticed there was mucus coming out of my turtles nose. As most of you guys know my turtle was making whistle noises a few days ago and i think he might of gotten RI.
Please help what do i do? i never had a turtle sick before so Im clueless to what to do!
I would really hate for something bad to happen to my turtle on my birthday

First of all, happy birthday.

Second of all, check out the RI section under Health on the main page, it was very informative.

"There are other possible symptoms that can signal RI, especially if they occur frequently. These may include breathing difficulties, coughing, sneezing, open mouth, yawning, wheezing, lethargy, loss of appetite, mucus from the nose (runny) or mouth and bubbling at the nose and mouth. If your RES exhibits any of these symptoms, then raising temperatures, quarantine and a water change would be the immediate actions to take. Ambient air temperature and water temperature should be raised 10 degrees F. Eliminate any drafts and cold air around the tank. Pneumonia may develop which in many cases is fatal. If your RES continues to exhibit a symptom or develops more, then consult with a qualified vet immediately."

Yeah i read that and when my dad got home i told him about it but he's just telling me that i always wish the worst upon my turtle since i had already told him about the whistling he was making (i wanted to punch him in the face haha but that would of made things worse)
So i guess its just me and my turtle. Im going to try to raise his temperture by opening a window to get some sunlight in cause i don't have a heater yet.
Im going to change his water tommorw when my dad is not home cause if he was he would just start yelling at me saying that im not making things better for him.
I also noticed that when he came up to breath the bottom of his jaw would get really big when he breathed which i also told my dad about but he just said its nothing.
What else can i do taking him to the vet not a option cause my dad cares more about the money then my turtle.

UPDATE:
Dad called petco (where i got him) and they are willing to take him to the vet tomorrow in the morning for free!! but the downfall is he might have to stay with them for a day or 2 but as long as he comes back safe and healthy its all good!!

I wouldn't put him in front of an open window, especially if there's a breeze coming through it. Don't expose him to any breezes or drafts. Keep him warm until he sees the vet.

That's not a reliable source of heating the tank. You can add warm water to the tank to raise the temps.

That's not the greatest method either. The temperature changes would make things worse since the water would probably fluctuate in temperature drastically every time he would add the warm water.

Also true. What about filling a container with hot water and placing it in the tank? Like the opposite of trying to cool the tank with containers of ice...

I took him to PetCo and they where going to take him to the vet today.
They just called and they said it was because he had swallowed some rocks.
If none of you guys know why he did cause we had bought him to small of rocks when we had first bought him.
They said they have him something to throw up all the rocks and they said he did and he looks good.
So if they don't have to give him medicine we should be able to pick him up tomorrow.

At first i found it kinda hard to believe it was rocks making mucus and whistling sounds but then i remembered the mucus was coming from his mouth! then it made sense to me

Also i was glad to hear they where having there 1 dollar one gallon sale Saturday
so gonna buy him a 55 gallon for 55 bucks!

I picked him up today he looked good was kinda ruffed up from the bumpy ride home but other then that he is doing great.
And we are going to buy him a 40 gallon instead cause my 2nd floor can't handle the weight of a 55 in the spot that i have him in
