Urgent Care :: is my female res dying?

my female res, has ri, have her on antibotics, but she doesnt seem to be getting better. she stays in one spot, when her head is out one of her eyes is swollen shut the other one you can barely see it. when she does fall in the water all she does is float. i tap her & sometimes she doesn"t move. but when i pick her up she moves a little. almost like she in a deep sleep? what is going on?

What kind of antibiotics? Some can make her lose her appetite, so I would see if she would be interested in treats. If she's not trying to eat, then you should take her back to her vet and update them with the situation -- lethargy is not good.

What antibiotics is she on? If it's Baytril, she will loose her appetite while she's on them.

How long has she been on the antibiotics? How are they being administered?

Especially if they're being taken orally, are you sure she's been getting the full dosage? If you're not seeing any real improvement after a reasonable amount of time, you should take her back to the vet. Perhaps something else would be more effective.

What is the water temp and basking area temp? For a sick turtle, a water temp of 82F and a basking area of 90 -91F would be good to help her fight the infection. If it's warm where you are, does she happen to be in a room with AC?
