I just got a mississippi map turtle from reptilecity and it can't open it's eyes, has a wart-like injury on the neck and shell damaged.
I put him in some water with some food and it's been an hour and his "wart" is getting worse.
I think it's suffering, what can I do for him or her?

i'm nervous and sad for it

Mal: Man, that definitely dosen't look good!! I don't know what the problem is, but the best advice I can give is to get your little guy to the vet ASAP!!! Good luck and keep us all posted :)

his shell doesn't feel strong either, especially by the shutes where it feels flimsy.
If his shell does have problems, will it get better and stronger when he grows up?

First off reptilecity is part of the hahareptile group which just as horrible as turtlesale [not reputable] and turtleshack [not reputable].
I just wish people would do a little research before buying from online turtle sources.

The mark on the neck is not a wart, but rather a wound that's healing. Most likely is was kept with hundreds of other turtles in the smallest of enclosures and was victim of aggression.

Hatchlings always have softer shells....I will become hard in the future months.
Hope he makes it.

It's my fault, my mom told me to handle it and I knew about that one bad site but not this one. Nothing I can do now about it. No matter what, I hope my new map gets better and if that site is bad I don't want to send it back to them.
I'm gonna keep it and my mom says if it doesn't get better we'll take it to the vet Monday. What can I do now? should I keep it dry or put it in the tank with water and basking? Right now I have 4 inches of water in it and big flat rock for it to rest on.

Were you able to take him to a vet? Are his eyes still swollen? If they are you can try applying some of the Zoo Med Repti Turtle Eye Drops or a little cod liver oil.
