Does anyone know what's wrong with my turtle's neck? It looks like the skin came out and got swollen.

I don't know. Is it scratched or anything. Did the turtles get in fight? I really don't know how to answer this. I've never seen anything like this.

It's not scratched. I touched it and it feels swollen, like it looks. I thought it was just extra skin that came out while he was stretching he's neck (I know it sounds dumb) and tried to see if I can push it back in but it's not an easy thing to do and I don't want to hurt her. If someone has any idea, I would greatly appreciate the help.

It kinda sounds like you might be making another trip to the vet. Or atleast that's what I would do.

Funny thing is the vet saw it and didn't know what it was. She said that it doesn't look like something serious and that I should wait awhile and see if it will get better by itself. I though that maybe someone on this forum saw something like this before and knows what it is because obviously my vet is kind of clueless and she is the only one in my area.

Oh, well sorry I don't know anything about it. You might want to wait for someone else to reply. I'm sure someone will know something.

Ok, well I googled this and found this on ATP(Which I'm a member.). Anyway, I don't know if it's the same problem, because the picture has a glare on it. Anyway, it kinda sounds like your problem, but I'm not completely sure, but I'd give it a read.

I don't know if it's the exact thing or even close to your problem, but it kinda sounds like it and anything can help!

It doesn't look like ear abcess to me. It's not near the ears, more like on top of her head. It's just the skin that looks swollen and I can move it with my finger. Thanks for the link though. I'll keep that in mind and maybe try to find another herp vet.

So, is it swollen on the side of your turtle's neck too or just the top? I can't tell from the picture.

I'm sorry, but I can't find anything that would explain why it's swollen. I've looked all over google! I'll keep looking though!

It's swollen at the top only.

I appreciate your efforts. I looked too. I'm not giving up though.

They're having other problems right now (as you probably know from my other post) so it might be some side effect (?) or symptom (?). My priority right now is to get them to eat and become active again.

Hopefully someone will soon shine some light on the problem.

By the way, why can't I see the actual picture in the post? Did I do it right?

You had a weird web address- http://lh6.ggpht.com/_EXRJGlVETHo/SldZG ... G_0966.JPG
is the one you want then put it in the IMG quotes

As for what that is it might be a large cyst or tumor
