white stuff over eye lids

today i let my hatchling RES turtles outside in a plastic container for a little sunshine and after a while when they were totally dry, i noticed white stuff over their eye lids. i immediately put them back into the water after i saw it.what is happening? please help. :cry: :( :mrgreen:

Hey jet654,

Too bad you didn't get a photo of the eyelids. It could be just their normal eyelids
closing when they're dozing off.

no i'm pretty sure that it was't their normal eyelids, it was weird

It's mineral/salt deposits and very normal.

Maybe the water wasn't really clean or the container had some deposits on it. If the eyes are not swollen, you shouldn't be too concerned.

Well, my cousin's turtle used to do that. They didn't have enough water in the tank, and the turtle never could swim actually in the water. So his eyes looked all dry. (They put alot more water in there now! He can actually swim under water!) Anyway, I think the sun just made his eyes kinda dry since he hadn't had water on them in a little while.
