Sneezing fit

Hello :?

Please can anyone help!?
My 3-4 year old RES seem to be sneezing severly. When he sneezes he seem to implode within his shell then burst out from it blowing out bubbles too, I am very scared. He doesn't yawn.

I am really not sure what to do, local vets have moved and now temporarily out of reach from others. Can anyone give me temporary advise on how I should halt or prevent this?

He also prefers to stay outside of the water and bask, but he will not go into the water but rather 'sniff it' (puts head beneath water). I am really scared. I love him very much and do not want to lose him...

Please help :!:

Is this only happening underwater? Is he eating, what are the water/basking temps?

Where are you located?

It sounds like what our baby RES was doing underwater when she had RI, and we're pretty sure it was "choking" on mucus coming up from the lungs. Do you ever see white, very sticky strands of mucus sticking to his mouth or nose? Anyway, it sounds like you definitely need to get to a vet. At 3-4 years old, your RES should be able to get an injection of antibiotics, something ours was too small for. In the meantime follow the instructions in the Stickys in this forum: primarily raising the water temp to around 80 and basking spot 10 degrees higher.

Good luck, and be sure to let us know how it goes.
