Bigger turtle sick?

We recently got 2 turtles and the larger one has some irregular symptoms that I think could lead to further problems :(

1. You can hear the breathing sounds when his head is out of water
2. white spots on the top and bottom of the shell
3. swollen eyes, red
4. and they both won't eat
5. When sleeping, the red eyes are more noticable and there are bubbles in his nose

The smaller turtle does not have any of these things except for not eating. I have thought of seperating them, because they sometimes seem to scratch each others eyes, but we don't have another tank big enough. Please help.

I'd advise a trip to the vet.

He sounds awfully sick. RI - some kind of fungal infection.

Any pictures?

Oh no this is not good at all. Seperate them immediately sounds like it just the one is sic or other may have it too.

The bigger turtle has a respiratory infection which can be fatel in turtles. You need to try and find a vet that can treat him. I would have other checked out too because it can spread and other turtle is not showing signs yet.

In the mean time knock up the water temp in the tank to the high 80s thats really all you can do on your end to help it.

You can get something like a Rubbermaid storage container to house one in at least temporarily. Keep the sick one warm (water 82F, basking area 90F) to help him fight the infection until you can get him to the vet.
