ive had a pet crawfish in my turtle tank for over 3 months and just today, i saw my turtle eating the remains! is it okay or will he have problems?!

most likely it should be fine but its pretty common. turtles see anything as food and it definately happens. if anything changes with him/her then yeah you should be concerned

how big is your turtle? and how big was the crawfish?

my turtle is about 3-4 inches and the crawfish was probably two inches. i doubt she ate it all by herself but with her other RES companion. she seems fine now though :D

yeah just check out her poops to make sure there aren't chunks of the crawfish shell-coating thing, that'd be my only concern. it could maybe cause impaction or internal tears or something if it doesn't digest correctly, but I don't think it should be a problem.

yeah, all her poops are well digested and "redigested" haha. she tends to eat her poop. :P but other than that shes fine :D
