I'm looking for some advise...

My red eared slider (2 years old) has recently developed these white spots around his eyes and on his hands and feet. he also has stopped eating for the past 2 days. His diet consists solely of RetroMin since he was a baby. I have replaced his water, but wanted to seek out advise to see if others have experienced this problem.

thank you

ricks, welcome to the forum. I personally have not seen this before but there are some very knowledgable people on the forum that will probably know.

But first, do you care to tell us how big your turtle is, (SCL) and what his setup is like, tank size, lighting, water and basking temps etc? This info will be helpful in getting the bigger picture to see what might be causing this.

Sorry I couldn't help you more, but have you read through the main site: www.redearslider.com ? There's some good info on there that might be helpful to you. :)

If there is a drastic change in physical appearance and a loss in appetite, you should take him to a vet. Such a change would likely only get worse and reflects the possible seriousness of the condition.

White spots, to my knowledge, may be a fungal or bacterial infection. Changes in dietary behavior may result from the lack of a proper environment.
