I have Just resucued 2 full size red ear Sliders MALES and my husband want to put them in my Pre formed pond but already in this Pond Are 2 One year old Red ear sliders, A Mature Female Painted Turtle , And 3 hatchling painted turtles (one witch is disabled he only has one eye) will the Red ear sliders Hurt Any of these other turtles?? if i remove the hatchling will the Males R.E.S be ok with the other turtles PLease help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!11 I DO NOT WANT ANY DEATHS

Welcome. You didn't say how large your pond is, but it would have to be huge to even consider eventually trying to place all the turtles together in it. I say eventually, because first you'd want to quarantine the two males for a minimum of 90 days to see if they have anything the others could contract.

How big is the pond? Turtles of significantly different sizes shouldn't be put together, so small hatchlings shouldn't be in the pond (any of them). Sliders are more agressive than painteds, males are more prone to fighting than a mixed pair. You didn't say whether or not the yearlings were male or female or how large they are....

If you want to be 100% sure there are no deaths or injuries, do not put them together, even after quarantining them. You didn't say how big the pond is, but from some reason it sounds like it soon may not be big enough for the turtles you have already, let alone two more...If you plan to keep them, create another enclosure for them or find them another home.

At 4 inches (shell lengths not including the curve), if they were males they'd likely be displaying secondary sex characteristics (spiky front nails, broad tails with anal vents closer to the tip than shell). If you can't tell, the jury is out, but they could be female (and will grow larger than the males)...

350 gallons is not that big of a pond for the number of turtles in it....

If you do the math:

1 female painted @ 12 inches
3 hatchling painteds @ 10.5 inches
2 male RES @ 9 inches
2 unknown RES @ 10.5 inches
= 82.5 inches of potential turtle @ 10 gallons per inch gives you a need for an 825 gallons of pond needed.

You pond will not even begin to cover the existing turtles, let alone more. Look into finding someone to adopt the extra turtles. You must remember, the more turtles with the fewer resources will just breed aggression. The new turtles (after quarantine) could never exist with the hatchlings.
