Some days ago this got out on my turtle:




Please tell me what to do? I live in a place where I don't have much veterinarians and the ones that are here don't know anything about turtles and they can't help me. Also I don't think that here I can buy some medicines about. So can you please tell me some natural cure and help my turtle

I don't know what that is, but one of my turtles died from that.

One day, he suddenly had these hard circular formations on his cheek. He couldn't swim straight and he kept on swimming in circles into the bottom of my tank.

I tried to quarantine him and heal him by myself. Despite all my efforts, he died one day after. I think that the cause of his condition was an opened cut that I didn't properly treat. Thus, it was infected. The turtle that died also had softshell disease.

That is an ear abscess. You'll need to get it lanced by a veterinarian. If you can only see a dog/cat one, that would be better than no vet. They will need to lance is and flush it out and give you antibiotics.

That's a pretty nasty abscess.......I agree with Meg. They can be very painful for your turt so any Vet will do. A simple lance and flush won't cost much so you should get her fixed up ASAP........

Do have your turtle seen ASAP. That's a pretty big abcess, and as it grows it puts pressure on the surrounding tissue, which is painful. It won't got away on it's own.

Once it's opened and the pus is removed, your turtle should heal fairly quickly. As a preventive measure, your turtle may be given antibiotics to kill of any residual infection.

You NEED a vet for this. I mean NEED.

cb4 -- Vet Time !! If you try and lance it yourself the infection will spead. Vet Time !!

I hope your turtle will get the medical attention it needs! I'm curious... what is that object directly below your turtle's head?

It looks like another turtle.

Also, if a regular vet isn't an option, you can probably get any medical doctor to do that type of procedure. It looks like something that many dermatologists do on humans. So, if you can find a doctor that would do it on an off-time for them, that's just as good as a vet.

I hope your turtle doing fine right now.. so sympathy..
