Urgent Care :: Turtles Eye

MY turtles eye are red, and I can't afford to go to a vet!
Is there any way to get rid of it, as in a type of food, or anything?
My first turtle died when it drowned, and I don't want another death D=
I can't afford a vet, I am underaged and my parents say if it dies they will get me a new one, but I don't want it to die D=.

I do not know how long they were red, because I never looked at my turtle REALLY closely.

My turtle that is sick was with the one that drowned, the one that drowned fell off a rock, and was up side down while I was sleeping.

Is it just one eye? Are the eyes swollen? Can you post a non-blurry picture?
If it's just one eye it may just be irritated for some reason. You can try Turtle Eye Drops, sold at most pet stores. Follow the directions and don't overdo it. Keep the water clean.

Eye drops are a good idea. You will need to put the drops in every few hours until they clear up. I would look into why they are red. Is the water clean? Is the uvb light too strong? You need to check into why as well as getting it cleared up.

nevermind, I got it, I now feed it carrots, leave it in the sun with an open window so the UVA and UVB can get through more often, and I warmed the water up a bit, and the swelling is going away

What is your set up like?

It sounds like you and your turtle could benefit from you reading the main page on turtle care. Without a proper set up your turtle will be miserable, and could die.

Yeah, can you post the specifics of your tank so we can help you troubleshoot? Like tank size (gallons), lighting, location, basking area, filter, age/size of turtle, feeding schedule, etc. Pictures would be good too. That way, we can make suggestions for improvement so you and your turtle live a long life together!
