his he got lanced and with some stuff to get rid of the pus inside the wound

i kept him out of the water for a week, i felt bad though he seemed so sad out of his tank, he stop eating as much when i dry docked him. It healed perfect i cant even tell where the lump use to be.

His eating alot now. swimming and basking again. but he gets scared easy when i get near him.

My friend gives about 8 regular pellets during feeding 3 times a day un a tank with two turtles. Also one of his turtles would try to bite through the glass if you put for finger where his mouth is and won't stop biting until you remove your finger away from the glass LOL!.

i give him about 4-6 baby pellets once a day for one turtle and then when i get a chacne to run to pets mart about every other week he gets some rosies.

Both of our turtles are at about 8 months

Your turtle is so lucky! You got him to the vet when he needed to go and took good care of him afterwards! I wish all turtles were so well cared for.

Marisa had a good suggestion - why don't you think about adding a water plant like anacharis to your turtle's water? That will provide the vegetable matter that he needs and it won't spoil in the water like lettuce.

yea, ill consider it i wanted to put plants inside my tank, its just something else i have to take care of though. lol

You don't have to take care of anachris---it will just float in the tank until your RES decides to eat it (if he decides to just rip it up, it will make a mess; but most turtles wind up eating the stuff). It's an aquatic plant and lives in water, though, so no special care is needed.

just wondering, how much would an abscess removal procedure cost?

Does your turtle have one (an abcess)? The fee can vary, and some members who have had to deal with the removal of one have posted what it cost them. The best thing, however, would be to call the vet's office (or a few offices) and find out.

no fortunately none of them dont. but just incase it happens, it seems to be a common thing that turtle owners encounter
