excellent! many vets will do this . im glad you found one who will. now that you are starting work, i would recommend following every else's advice and putting some money aside every paycheck for emergencys...
a little off subject, but i have a friend (who is 21...my age, and also a college student) who had an african grey parrot. he got sick and she had no money either, but had to make multiple vet visits and treatments. she maxed out all her credit cards in less than 2 weeks, and then started workin on a payment with the vet. her bird needed multiple surgerys in order to have a chance of survival.. well.. $7,000 later after many surgerys and treatments.. her bird stopped fighting and passed away. she is now in dept over $7,000 for all of this, because she was willing to do WHATEVER it took to save her bird. unfortunantly it was just his time to go.. but the point i am trying to make is that we dont expect these things to happen, but sometimes they do and we need to be prepared for them in whatever way we can, and do everything we can to help.
i am so glad you are getting him to a vet tomorrow, and im not tryin to pick on you, but after hearing this story, doesnt it seem a little silly getting so worked up over $55 to bring your turtle to the vet?
i thikn the main reason a lot of people (and im not saying you) dont always want to seek vet care when needed is because the vet usually cost at least 3X the price of the turtle.. but thats not what its about...my friend could have bought 7 more parrots for the amount she spendt trying to save one. but thats not the point. it is the owners responsibility to care for any pet u take in
i am not trying to offend you, and im not saying that this is your reason, its just an opinion in general that i have, and im sharing it.. ITS ONLY MY OPINION, and not of you.
