I'm sorry to hear you lost your turtle. It sounds like your turtle could have already been beyond help at the time of treatment.

However, I don't understand your vets comments about being ill yet also saying the turtles "looked healthy and were growing fine"... I'm also wondering about your vet's comment that an older turtle can become sick more easily than if it were younger. I think the opposite is true, although any age turtle can become ill fairly quickly if the immune system is impaired by living in substandard conditions and/or a turtle has an inadequate diet. (I'm not saying this was the case with your turtle.)

I'm also curious about the bleeding, which isn't a sign of an RI. Did the vet say what was causing the bleeding?

You said you were to give your turtle shots and force a liquid down her throat...Had you started this treatment at all? Did the vet show you how to get the liquid down your turtle's throat?

I think it must be very hard to lose a turtle that's 12 years old (how long had you had her?). I'm very sorry for your loss...

actually the turtle was treated by the vet, i wasnt even able to get the chance to give her any medecine on my own because she passed away the same night as the appointment. therefore the vet was the only treatment so far till time of death. in the morning i would have to wake up and treat the turtle, yet i wont have to nemore..

could have been respiratory or kidney..

the other turtle has no signs of being ill, they said..
i havent noticed if any problems have occurred.. although this turtle eats like a pig.. lol
