Urgent Care :: How much poop is too much poop?

Well I have one of those stickies on the side of the tank, which has been lying to me. What do you recommend? Should I get one of those floating bulbs? What's wrong with the digital probe? I use one of those for the air temp - which works well.

Those sticky ones are somewhat reliable, and at least consistent. Those probes are wildly inconsistent. My favorite is a temp gun, but they are a bit pricy for the purpose (but fun).

These do water temps too? The sticky I have always says between 72 and 74 - yet the heater is running almost all the time and touching the glass tells me that 72 and 74 would be warmer.

They look awesome. Maybe I'll get a new sticky and a temp gun.

It measures the surface temperature of anything, so it will measure the water surface temp. I keep the sticky kind around to double check.

Sheldon seemed more perky this morning. I bumped the furnace up to 74 since windchills are dropping near -20 today. I think the warm water and the furnace are helping. Can't wait for my new heater.

Its cold here also. Oddly,my res is the only one that seems to act different during winter. She will still eat pellets but during winter she really slows down on eating her veggies. What brand heater did you get?

Sheldon is feeling better but the veggies are still not in cards. I'm getting an Aqueon Pro. It's a nice heater that she can't use her shell to destroy.

I own 1 Aqueon pro 1 Aqueon and 1 jager. My Aqueon leaked on the inside and they replaced it no questions asked. If the pro leaks you won't know because its all black. I highly recommend a gfci. They say you can submerge the heaters but I don't feel comfortable doing so.

I feel pretty comfortable with my Aqueon but you do bring up a good point. I fear I ruined the one I have by accidently not turning it off when I did a water change out not too long ago. Probably didn't notice the malfunction until we dipped way way below zero. I may do a jager when I do the next tank upgrade.

Sheldon is going to need a 55 gallon tank fairly soon.

My friends and I discussed it. Sheldon is in fact a girl but my friend named her tortoise Matilda before she found out it was a he. She said that after calling him 'Tilda for so long, she couldn't imagine calling him something else. I can't either to be honest. Is that weird?
