turtles feel hunger? so he'll eat the pellets if I stop giving him treats now- right?

how many days should I do this, I don't want him to starve to death
should I continue to feed him veggies then

Most RES will want to constantly eat, it's up to you to control that.

Okay I'll wait a few days and stop on the treats, ill keep trying pellets every other day and veggies in between, sound good?

still not eating, I tried feeding him some cantelope ( he loves it) BUt this time he sniffed at it and wanted to bite but he just turned away.. he did this 3 times.. ended up not eating it. I fed it to the other turtle, she loved it

Are the turtles kept together?

no. they're divided because they fight remember

I go through too many posts to keep track

So, no eating pellets but will still eat treats?

he eats treats but not his favorite fruits

TODAY he ate 3 pellets and stopped, last time he ate was 2 weeks ago!

the tiger barbs in my tank ( i have 15)
they are fighting! Mostly are males fighting. They are chasing after each other and nipping at each other, its horrific.

Sorry, I'm not familiar with them... you might have only a few options.

update:

turtle is eating a bit now, I already started a new diet for him of fruits and veggies altnerating heads worth of pellets every other day.

btw my fish arn't fighting overnight anymore, they're fine

fed my turtles today

fed them both:
heads worth papaya
heads worth slice of carrot
2 pellets

The turtle that has issues, he ate everything except the pellet- wouldn't go near it!! :mrgreen:

I see that the pellets have vitamin d3 but should i get additional supplements?

he's getting awfully thin, and also his shell is curling with many retained scutes. everything else is fine except is sometimes scratches his face.mouth and he yawns 2 or 3 times a day

update on today-
he is basking a lot, only things he eats are papaya, and carrots, he doesn't touch the pellets at all.. what should i do? it's been long alreayd i guess, he's really slimming down

Have you tried the jell-o shot recipe?

Not yet i will look into that

though because he's pyramiding and excess basking, also not eating pellets for 2-3 weeks now i might just bring him to a vet to check it up
