I'm really sorry to hear this, Don't give up I suggest you read read and read some more stay informed here ask bunches of questions and then start making a neat place for a turtle to live warm and safe....once thats all done first then visit a pet store and rescue a little guy/girl from the over crowed tanks and I think you will have many enjoyable years ahead of you....we all learn from experience I wish I had been given this advice before I purchased Nina then she could have come home to the very best place I could have fixed her but I'm working hard now to be all I can be for her good luck my friend.

Serena -

If you lived closer to Southern California I would gladly part with one of my eight, slightly used but well cared for, greenies. :)

At least that way I would know that one would be going to a good home with someone who cares as much about them as I do. :)

Good luck. Keep him warm and out of breezes/AC. Let us know how he does.

If he's getting a medication like Baytril, it will curb his appetite while he's on it. Try to offer him some "smelly foods" like tuna, salmon, sardines packed in water (not oil), hard-boiled egg whites. You could also get some liquid vitamins (the kind for birds is OK) and put a drop on the pieces.

RIs are contagious. I'd separate the turts to be safe.

Post Posted: Thu Jun 16, 2005 1:29 am   another update

Well heres another update. My turtle is doing alot better i watched him today and saw him open mouth breath about 5 times and he has been getting into the water alot more but still isnt eating i am tryin to give him stuff but maybne its just the medicine hes still on. The only thing is he still sits on his floating rock for a long time and just basks. Other than that he seems to be doing good. I need to give him one more shot on friday and hopefully that will cure it all.
