This pissed me off. I just got this:
"Sorry, there's no refund. As you acknowledged upon receipt, the turtle was healthy and feeding when it arrived. Inadequate conditions after shipping can absolutely cause a turtle to decline and die within a week. A bare tank with no basking light or hiding places in the water is certainly not adequate. Those turtles went from mid-80's temps to room temp literally overnight, which could shock almost any turtle. I'm actually pleasantly surprised that the venusta is still doing well.
Like I said, next year if the venusta is still doing well and you'd like to try again with an emolli, I'll give you a good deal on one.
Paul"
And I replied like this:
"I had a heater and a UV light when the turtles arrived. My room is usually 80 Degrees anyway living where I do. Their is a hiding spot under the basking spot. One day of no basking light will not kill a turtle.
And just because a turtle is sluggish and sick, doesn't mean they won't eat. When I said they were healthy, I had assumed that the Nicaraguan was just settling in, not sick on arrival."
