On the diet, I'd suggest cutting way back on veggies that contain sugar - like the carrots and tomatoes. Instead, she can have lots of green leafy lettuce and, of course, the aquatic plants. And, like it said in the thread above, foods containing vitamin e will help with the shedding. Here's a list, but these are NOT things that a healthy turtle should have every day - a few servings a week are plenty - as these veggies also contain sugar.
Tomato
Sweet potato
Turnip greens
Blueberries
Apple skin
